Anne Marie Simko, MSPT

Ann Marie Simko graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY in 1987. She began her career at Albany Medical Center working in the ICU and rehab unit with spinal cord injuries, amputees, and burn patients, before moving to Virginia in 1988. For the next 18 years she worked at INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital. She treated primarily outpatient orthopedic patients, but her caseload also included inpatient orthopedics, acute care, and cardiac patients. She helped develop a pre-op total knee and hip replacement program, preformed biomechanical evaluations, and worked in the Work Capacity Program conducting Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Ann Marie loves being able to spend a full hour giving her patients the treatment they need. She integrates manual therapy with a functional approach to reach her (and her patients) treatment goals.

Outside of work, Ann Marie enjoys time with her husband, John, and their two children. She also volunteers at the school, library, and in her neighborhood. Her favorite hobby is teaching stamping and scrapbooking.
